Since 2016, the Trust has run an annual sculpture residency for a graduating Royal College of Art Sculpture student. The Sculpture Town Artist in Residence is given a supported studio, exhibition at the Gibberd Gallery, and opportunity to donate work to the collection. Finn Thomson (b.1991) was the Trust’s inaugural participant. His piece Moore Waiting Room is comprised of a group of benches and a waiting room sign on the wall. Its paving slabs are a nod to Harlow Family Group‘s multiple locations in its near 70 year lifespan. Moore Waiting Room invites visitors to sit to contemplate the sculpture, but suggests that either viewer or the sculpture will not be here for long.
